- YOU DON'T NEED TO HAVE ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD TO HELP OTHERS.- CA Pawan Lakhotia
Sunday, 28 May 2017
We ALL can make a difference in small ways like CA Pawan Lakhotia who helps sponsoring education or simply speaking to parents in his village to educate their kids. HE DOES all this with his own personal funds. He has a page Cheena Foundation where he tries connecting to those who need EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE in the form of guidance/ motivation.
"I was lucky that the Principal of my school convinced my father to send me to college , as I had scored 79 percent in my 10th boards. Someone helped my father with money when I wanted to study. This encourages me to help others as well;" say CA Pawan Lakhotia.
"I have seen many kids drop out of school in my village Sandwa, Rajasthanwhere I belong to .The main reason being 'FINANCIAL CONSTRAINTS'. My father has a 'GROCESSORY STORE'... where most of the goods are sold on credit. Most of the villagers are farmers who depend totally on the 'YEAR'S CROP'. If their crops fail, my father does not get his money as well....Its a cycle you see. The farmers are helpless so are we!
We had a lot of financial issues growing up. I took up commerce as it is more economical in comparison to science. In my last year in college, I TOOK ALL THE COURAGE and registered for CA course. I knew plain commerce would land me a normal job for a salary of 10 - 15 k pm or I would have to sit at my fathers shop. I heard, that as a CA one gets paid really well and its a very dignified and respected degree still very affordable. All this did not come easily, my father took loans and I worked and studied through out college and CA.
Being a HINDI STUDENT, I gave CPT/ IPCC in Hindi. I cleared IPCC(second level in CA) in 2 attempts. I DID NOT take any classes it was pure self study with the SUPPORT of my BEST FRIEND CA Rajesh. However CA final I wanted to give in English. I read the MODULES 3 times from cover to cover to understand the concepts. I also heard videos online. CA final I cleared in 2 attempts. When I failed the 1st attempt I cried for 2 whole days. It was the saddest moment. My parents had so much of hope from me. But I pushed my self and focussed on clearing the next attempt and I DID !!!
Now I work in ICICI Bank. I am the only person in my family to work in a Bank. It feels amazing. Today when I go to my village I get so much of respect, they come for advice to me.
I have friends who have ALL THE MONEY/ SPEAK SUPER ENGLISH / HAVE BEST FACILITIES BUT they DON'T HAVE SELF CONFIDENCE and hence SELF DOUBT. Always have SELF CONFIDENCE IT HELPS!!! IGNORE what people, relatives say...JUST FOCUS ON YOUR GOALS IN LIFE AND CHASE IT..!!!
My advice to others is- "Work hard , have a VISION, DON'T GIVE UP ON YOURSELF. THINK of the consequences if one gives up, that will motivate you to keep pushing yourself towards your VISION.. Life is a journey filled with UPS and DOWNS for everyone . WE have to WORK HARD AND STAY FOCUSSED. EVERYONE HAS PROBLEMS . WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT AND HELP ONE ANOTHER ", he concluded.
.
GST major transition in the Indian tax framework. It has evolved significantly from the time of its function. The GST Council has approved simplified GST return format wherein the taxpayers will be required to file only one monthly return. Input tax credit will be available based on invoice details of outward supplies uploaded by the supplier.
